The Ribnitzer rebbe

The Ribnitzer Rebbe was a tzadik who lived his life on an entirely different level and reality than most other people. He was known as an incredible Torah scholar, master of prayer, and Oved Hashem - a person who devoted his life entirely to the service of G-d.

One of the ways in which the Rebbe fulfilled that service was through the Avoda of Mikveh. The Ribnitzer Rebbe went out of his way to immerse himself in the mikvah - every single day - and it made no difference to him whether he was living in Boro Park and the water in the mikvah was heated or if he was living in Russia and had to break the ice of the local river to immerse himself. The temperature of the water was not important. The only thing that mattered was dipping himself in the mikvah's holy embrace. There were many days when he visited the mikvah repeatedly, immersing himself hundreds of times - the water a beloved spiritual blanket to his saintly soul.

There are countless stories, which are nothing short of miraculous, having to do with the Ribnitzer Rebbe and the mikvah - and they serve as a testimony to the phenomenal things he was accomplishing for Klal Yisroel every time he immersed himself beneath the holy waters.
